Zak Group provided the creative direction for the 2023 International Woolmark Prize and accompanying film DIALOGUE, a contemporary re-staging of artist Joan Jonas’ pioneering performance work Delay Delay (1972).

Celebrating the theme of ‘dialogue’ as a key that unlocks the creative process, the film establishes an intergenerational exchange between Jonas and the next generation of creative talent. Actress Taylour Paige and musician Loyle Carner appear alongside Jonas using emblematic props to create unexpected rhythms of space and scale on the coast of Marseille.

The film was directed by Partel Oliva and choreographed by Josh Johnson. Special guest appearances include writer Naomi Shimada, muse Sonia Ichti, ballet dancer Samuel Pereira and Marseille-based creatives: Valentine Valero, Hanna-May Porlon and Luka Isaac. An original score is composed by British electronic producer and musician Loraine James. On-set photography was captured by Zhenya and Tanya Posternak (New York) and Vincent Desailly (Marseille).
