Zak Group created the spatial design for the 2023 RIMOWA Design Prize Ceremony, held in the Mies van der Rohe-designed Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. The day-long event included an exhibition, finalist presentations and award ceremony.
The spatial design introduced a series of scaffolding structures into the open-plan gallery. Laid out according to the building’s square dimensional grid, the scaffolding elements included a 30-metre long display table, a triple-height stage with LED screen, an entrance volume and bar. Semi-transparent industrial netting was used to wrap the structures, allowing for uninterrupted views through the space. Finalists were presented with Zak Group-designed aluminium waterjet cut trophies.
To launch the RIMOWA Design Prize in its inaugural year, Zak Group also created a website, animated teaser campaign and identity.
